Kendra Murray is a petrologist who uses field observations, stable isotopes and geochemistry to investigate crustal contamination in magmatic systems, orogenesis, and the links between tectonics, crustal evolution, and climate.

-- Assistant Professors Michael Bizimis and Howie Scher are supervising the final preparations of the NSF- and university-funded Trace Metals Laboratory at the University of South Carolina, where we'll be able to conduct geochemical and geochronological measurements using new Element2 and Neptune mass-spectrometers. ---- Manuscripts by Guenthner et al., and Barbeau et al. are in review at G-Cubed and Nature Geoscience. ---- Our manuscript on the geochronology and provenance of the southern Rocas Verdes basin has been accepted for publication in G-Cubed. ---- Our manuscript detailing U-Pb detrital-zircon geochronology of the Trinity Peninsula Group and Mt. Flora Formation was published in Antarctic Science. ---- Our manuscript on the thermochronology of the Fuegian Andes has been published in Terra Nova, and includes a cover photo by Barbeau. Congratulations to David Gombosi on his first paper! ---- Justin Davis, Sidney Hemming, Elizabeth Pierce and Dave Barbeau are aboard the Gould and steaming towards the Antarctic Peninsula for the final research season. ---- The Neptune and Element2 were installed in the Trace Metals Lab at the University of South Carolina. The first data should emerge early in 2010. ---- Feb. 11 2011 - Barbeau, Jonas, Ben, and Justin are currently going on the Gould to collect samples. --
